DAILY PRACTICE POLICIES
PARENTS: PLEASE REVIEW THESE WITH YOUR SWIMMERS!
The following set of policies, rules and procedures provides a guide for all Desert Dolphins practices and meets. It is necessary that these be followed to ensure safe and effective practices (thus, improving our performance!).
1) BE ON TIME
Please notify the coach if you are going to be late or will miss practice. Call another swimmer to relay the message if you cannot reach the coach. Discuss any extended absences directly with the coach.
2) BE PREPARED
Have your swimsuit on and be ready for practice. Swimmers are responsible for having their own swim cap, goggles, nose clip(s) and a positive attitude!
3) BE RESPONSIBLE AND SAFE
No eating or chewing gum during practice. Assist with putting on pool covers and putting away weight training and sound equipment after practice. At the end of practice, please stay on deck (inside gated pool area) until your ride arrives. Coaches will always remain at pool with swimmers until all swimmers are picked up. Please, however, be on time when picking up swimmers. Coaches are not paid beyond the practice time to stay with athletes.
4) BE RESPECTFUL
All athletes deserve respect. Show good sportsmanship and be a team player at all times. Respect all other synchronized swimming teams, their coaches, and officials. Respect all other teams and groups with whom we share the facility.
5) RESPECT POOL FACILITY
Keep your area clean and tidy. Before getting in the water, put all your belongings back into your bag. Do not bring valuables to practice. Food and Glass Containers are not allowed on deck. Shower before entering the pool. Before leaving practice pick up ALL trash and personal belongings. Foul language/swearing does not promote good sportsmanship and is strictly prohibited!
6) RESPECT YOUR COACH
Our coaches are experienced, knowledgeable and are dedicated in sharing their expertise in the sport of synchronized swimming. Courtesy and consideration is expected and appreciated at all times. Parents are welcome to watch practice from the bleachers. PLEASE refrain from asking questions or addressing concerns with the coaches during practice times.
