Competitive Team Assistant Coach
Kendra Sollars began synchronized swimming at the age of 8 with Scottsdale Synchro and eventually went on to compete for the Arizona Aqua Stars. In 2005 she qualified for Junior National Team Trials and was among the top 20 in figures. She finished out her Age Group career with the title of Age Group Overall National Figure Champion and won silver in the solo competition in 2005. Kendra then moved to Ohio with an academic scholarship to attend The Ohio State University and swim collegiately. Her freshman year at OSU, she won gold in Figures at Collegiate Nationals and her entire team was named Athlete of the Year in 2006. Kendra was a Scholar Athlete for all four years at OSU and was captain of her team her senior year in 2009. That year, she concluded her collegiate career by reclaiming the Overall National Collegiate Championship and, for the first time in history by any collegiate team, winning the Overall United States National Championship with her team. Upon graduating with a Bachelors of the Arts, Kendra returned to her home state, began coaching with the Arizona Desert Dolphins, and continued for 3 years . She then went on to perform with Cirque du Soleil’s “O” from 2011-2012. Presently, Kendra works a full time day job, is a working artist in Tempe, and coaches part-time with the Dolphins.
